Dental Implants Change Lives

Before implant placement
After implant placement
A young girl who was born missing a front tooth hated wearing a partial denture. Advanced Dental Care in Valdosta, GA, restored her smile and changed her life with a dental implant.

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small post, usually made out of biocompatible titanium, that is placed in the jawbone where it acts as the root of the lost tooth. The implant fuses with the bone and provides a solid foundation for replacement teeth.

Once the implant is securely in place, the dentists at Advanced Dental Care in Valdosta, GA, can attach a beautiful, natural-looking tooth using a connector piece called an abutment.

Dental implants are modern dentistry's versatile solution to the problem of missing teeth. They can be used alone or with other implants to support an individual tooth, a dental bridge, or even a full denture.

Dr. Gray and all of his staff went above and beyond to get me in and take care of my problem. They could tell I was in pain and showed sincere compassion. The girls up front were super friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and made me feel at ease about my procedure. Dr. Gray was so careful and did not hurt me. He made sure I was ok every step of the procedure. And I can not thank Keanna enough for everything she did for me. She stayed with me the whole time and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and well informed. Dr. Gray and his staff were laid back and easy to talk to but also very professional and respectful to each other and the patients.

Drove from Tifton because of the great things I have heard about this office, and it was worth it. That feeling of shame you might get from other offices (no matter how diligent you are) about your dental care does not exist here. Kristy was the best hygienist I have ever had. She made the whole experience comfortable, it was like hanging out with an old friend. Dr. Gray's chairside manner was very laid back and professional. And I can not forget the ladies upfront at the desk they were a hoot to talk to. Trust me when I say everyone was amazing.

"Wonderful and Personable"

What an incredible experience, office staff were polite, courteous and professional. I was seen within minutes of my scheduled appointment time. Lauren Conine was my hygienist, she explained in detail and in laymen terms the exams and procedures she would be doing. What a wonderful and personable young woman (with a wicked sense of humor). She made me feel at ease as soon as I sat down and her main concern was limiting any discomfort. Advanced Dental is so fortunate to have her. Dr. Woodward is the epitome of professionalism, he also explained in detail a comprehensive treatment plan, options and costs and was interested in my comments and concerns. Would recommend Advanced Dental without reservation.

My kids and I have been patients of Dr. Ashley Moorman for almost two years. Prior to coming to ADC my family was at another local office for 2 years. The staff there never made us feel comfortable. So I decided to switch to ADC and I fell in love with the office from our initial visit. Our hygienist Erin is awesome. She always gives us a warm greeting at the office or if I see her outside of the office. Brittany is so compassionate her attitude relieves my fear and anxiety during my dental procedures. Each time that we visit the office we receive a warm welcome from all of the staff. Dr. Ashley Moorman is an amazing dentist that provides quality dental work. He is very professional and compassionate. My kids look forward to going to the dentist now.

Do You Lack the Bone Density Needed for an Implant-Supported Denture?

Bone density is required to hold a dental implant and the restoration attached to it. Unfortunately, many people missing teeth for a long time have lost a significant amount of bone and do not qualify for implants.

The dentists at Advanced Dental Care in Valdosta, GA, may have a solution for you. A newer technique, the All-on-4 method, has proven successful for a select group of patients suffering bone loss.

In this procedure, four specially designed implants are strategically placed in areas of higher bone density, which creates the secure foundation needed for a denture. Patients are happy to discover that these implants can be placed and a denture attached all on the same day.

Why Implants Are the Preferred Solution For Missing Teeth

Preserve Your Jawbone

A dental implant is the only tooth replacement method that also replaces the tooth root and stimulates bone growth in the jaw. If you are missing several teeth, your jawbone can shrink and cause you to lose more teeth. As the jawbone gets smaller, it can also make you look years older than you are. In contrast, dental implants encourage bone growth in the jaw.

Protect Nearby Teeth

When traditional dental bridges are used to replace missing teeth, dental crowns on nearby teeth are used to hold the bridge in place. Unfortunately, this means those healthy teeth need to be altered to accept the crowns. This can weaken the crowned teeth and make them more susceptible to damage in the future. Implant-supported restorations stand on their own.

Produce Natural Looking Results

The dentists at Advanced Dental Care in Valdosta custom craft your restoration using high-quality dental materials that are durable and mimic the natural qualities of tooth enamel. Our tooth restorations are so lifelike that even up close they look like natural teeth.

Replacing the Entire Tooth With a Dental Implant and a Crown

The Implant is placed in the jawbone. an abutment is attached to the implant. then a Crown is secured to the abtument.
Whether you're missing one tooth or several, we have a solution for you. Our dentists can place a durable titanium dental implant to secure your dentures, crown, or bridge. If you're ready to start smiling confidently again, reach out to Advanced Dental Care to learn more about the possibilities implants have to offer.

Dental Implants Treatment Timeline

While each patient's case is unique, in general, the dental implant procedure typically breaks down into several distinct steps:

We offer a variety of sedation methods that can help patients relax while they receive care.
We offer a variety of sedation methods that can help patients relax while they receive care.

One of our dentists at Advanced Dental Care in Valdosta will conduct an in-depth examination to assess your bone density and oral health. If we determine implants are appropriate, we will recommend a trusted oral surgeon to place the implants.

Preparatory Steps

Some patients need preparatory procedures to create a healthy foundation for implants. This can include bone grafting to increase bone density or treatment for gum disease.

Implant Placement

The oral surgeon will numb the area so you will feel comfortable during the procedure. A small incision is made in the gums and then the titanium posts are carefully inserted.

Healing Period

It usually takes between four and six months for the implant to fuse with the bone, a process called osseointegration.

Abutment Placement

After the implant is secure in the bone, a connector piece called an abutment is attached. It takes about two weeks to heal after this simple procedure.

One of our dentists at Advanced Dental Care will then use a sophisticated iTero scanner to capture an impression of the treatment area. This 3-D map of your mouth will be used to create the crown, bridge, or denture. Our dentists use high-quality dental material to create a lifelike restoration that blends in with your teeth to create a natural-looking smile.

Restoration Placement

After the restoration has been fabricated, you will return so that the dentist can test the fit and make any necessary adjustments. Once you and the dentist are pleased with the results, the restoration will be attached.
